PennyBun is the one-woman-show owned and operated by Los Angeles based designer Dani Dartnell. That’s me!! I create made-to-measure clothing, custom quilts, general decor, and more.
All creations are small-batch or one of a kind, and hand made by yours truly. This allows our products to be size inclusive across the board, and always exactly what you want.
Zero waste is my ultimate goal, and shopping here means you’re getting products created in as eco-friendly a manner as possible. I’m sure you’ve heard the horror stories about how much waste piles up because of mass-produced, fast fashion. It sucks.
Eco-Friendly & Sustainable Practices
All of our products have symbols next to them that signal which of our sustainable practices was used in their creation.
Offcuts are fabric scraps left over from our prior projects. Most clothing companies expect to throw away up to 15% of their textiles after cutting out pattern pieces. We try and use every last piece, keeping this 15% waste out of landfills.
If we’re ordering fabric for our products, we do everything we can to order deadstock fabrics. This is what’s left over when clothing companies or textile mills overestimate fabric orders. We rescue this fabric from landfills and turn it into one-of-a-kind, custom clothing items. Less waste, less carbon footprint.
We love giving a single piece of fabric a second life, so we use recycled fabrics for as many projects as possible! Pre-existing textiles like blankets, bedsheets, tablecloths, t-shirts, and more can be turned into dresses, quilts, pajamas, anything! It’s like making tennis-shoes out of water bottles, but better.
